Monica is a mid-thirties wife and mother of one. She desperately wants another child and her husband Stan finally agrees but is concerned it could upset the equilibrium of their happy little family. The thing is, three-year-old Kelly was fathered by another man so Stan is her stepdad and if he father’s their next child he’s concerned Kelly will come to feel less qualified as a member of the family. This might be an irrational concern but Monica grew up as a stepdaughter herself and can relate to feeling less connected to her daddy than her little sister, who owned both of their parents… Stan loves their child and is more than happy being a stepdad. He suggests the other man fathers another child for them so the kids will be full-blooded siblings, which would be simple enough, if it wasn’t for the fact Monica can’t stand the guy who got her pregnant anymore.
